Romeo vs Paris: Nice guys versus bad boys

Do nice guys always finish last?  If you were Juliet's friend, who would you advise her to date?

Romeo...

....or Paris?

Explain your reasons, and justify your argument using evidence from the play.

  1. I don't think nice guys always finish last. They might lose a few battles, but they'll win the war in the end. If I was Juliet's friend, I would tell her that she has to follow her heart. I'd tell her that everyone would be pleased with her dating Paris, but if she really loved Romeo, she should date him. This is because she would be unhappy for the rest of her life if she married Paris like her parents wanted her to do, but if she marries Romeo, she'll be happy forever.

  2. Yes, because the nice guys will not always win, I would tell her to date Romeo. I believe that they are meant for each other and that they fell in love with each other. I believe another thing I would tell her is what does her heart tell her to do. She should do what she thinks is the best for her.

  3. Nice guys get lucky sometimes. I would just stay out of it. I do not want anything to do with someone elses love life.

  5. I don't think nice guys always last, but they generally lose a lot of the time. I would advise her to marry Romeo. If she wants to please everyone else then marry Paris, but if she truly loves Romeo then she should follow her heart and marry him. Juliet's father and her family want her to marry Paris. Juliet truly loves Romeo and wants to marry him, so I believe she should marry Romeo.

  6. In my opinion I would tell her to date Romeo. I say this because she loves him. Her relationship with Paris is set up and not her decision. As a friend I would tell her to do what's best for her.

  7. I would tell her to go for the guy that really does love her. I don't think nice guys always finish last. This is because she would be unhappy for the rest of her life if she married Paris like her parents wanted her to do, but if she marries Romeo, she'll be happy forever. She loves him and he loves her so they need to be together and if that is what she wants then she needs to go and get it.She just needs to do her own thing

  8. No I don't think that nice guys will always finish last. I think Juliet should date Romeo. That is the one she love's so she should be with him. She should be with the one her heart desires not the one that she don't want to even be with. She just needs to follow her heart and not listen to what others are telling her to do. In the long one if she was to chose the one she doesn't love it could be a lot harder on her than chosing the one she was made be with.

  10. I wouldn't really say nothing cause its her choice, she can date whoever she want its not my choice so why ask.I think that Juliet should follow her first mind.

  11. I do not think that nice guys finish last but most of the time they do. I think that she should marry Paris. I would tell her to marry Paris. One reason is because her family likes her and he has money so she will be happy. She should not marry Romeo because her family hates him. Her family would most likley dissown her if she married Romeo because that is her familys ememy. So paris would be the better choice in the end.

  12. I don't think nice guys always finish last. If I was Juliet's friend, I'd tell her to date Paris since that's what everybody seems to want her to do. I also think she should date Paris because everyone would like him and she wouldn't have any worries about anybody trying to take her away from him.

  13. I think nice guys wouldn't finish last all the time. & I would tell her she needs to be with the one she loves. Romeo is the one that she loves and cares about and needs. Paris is nothing more than what her parents want. It's what she want's with her life. Yes, her parents to get to pick who she wants to marry but, she needs to have a say in who she is going to be weddied to. Not just who her parents want her with she needs to be in love with the man. Not unhappy all the time. So yeah Romeo.!

  14. Nice guys get lucky sometimes. I would say that she should marry Romeo because she actually loves him and she wouldn't just be marrying to make her dad happy that way instead she would be marrying to make herself happy.

  15. Yes I think that nice guys will always finish last. I think that Juliet should date who ever she want to date because it her life and she might not want to be in love with one guy all of here life

  16. In my opinion I would tell her to date Romeo. I say this because she loves him. Her relationship with Paris is set up and not her decision. As a friend I would tell her to do what's best for her. But, both of the guys are self-centered. Paris has Juliet's father's blessing to marry Juliet. So, if she married Paris, her dad would approve. If she married Romeo, no one would approve. This situation would make it difficult. But, in the end it's her decision whether or not she's willing to fight for the guy she wants to be with.

  17. I think that she should marry Paris. The reason that I think that she should marry Paris is because she could marry him and still see Romeo. I think that she should respect her parents wishes and marry him. Why cuase such bad problem when there is such an easy soulution. a part of me wants her to marry Romeo because they love eachother so much but you have to think about the overall situation. That is why i believe that she should marry Paris.

  18. I think she should marry Romeo, because they love each other. Everyone may be pleased with her for marrying Paris, but it wouldn't matter if she didn't love him. It shouldn't matter what others think. If she's happy with Romeo, then that's who she should marry. You shouldn't have to do things to please other people. She should do what will make her happy in the long run.

  20. I think she should marry Romeo because they both love each other. They both have feelings for each other. If i were Juliet's friend I would tell her to follow her heart but I would also tell her that she should marry Juliet because they both love each other.
